Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Static Mechanical Engineer to support oil and gas projects, with strong experience in the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of static mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, mechanical integrity, and compliance with applicable engineering standards and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, assess, and monitor the condition of static mechanical equipment.
- Plan and supervise maintenance, inspection, repair, and overhaul activities.
- Provide technical support for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping systems, valves, and related static equipment.
- Review equipment condition, identify defects, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of mechanical problems.
- Review technical drawings, datasheets, equipment specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Prepare technical reports, inspection findings, and maintenance recommendations.
- Coordinate with maintenance, operations, inspection, and other engineering teams.
- Ensure all activities comply with approved procedures, engineering standards, and HSE requirements.
- Support contractors and field teams during maintenance and repair activities.
- Review technical documentation and verify work completion against approved specifications.
- Participate in shutdown, turnaround, inspection, and maintenance activities when required.
Requirements & qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in static equipment within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
Hands-on experience with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, piping, and valves.
Good knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASME, API, and relevant international standards.
Experience in maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and mechanical integrity activities.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, datasheets, and technical specifications.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work effectively in field and site environments.
Strong commitment to HSE and quality requirements.
