Job Description

    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONPerforms substance use disorder and mental health counselingwork on an individual patient basis and in a group setting.

    Responsible for servicing primarycaseload along with other patients as assigned, and documenting in accordance with companystandards.

    Counselors will demonstrate the clinical skills necessary to provide a full range ofrecovery-oriented, substance use clinical services, including but not limited to screening,assessment, intake, treatment/discharge/recovery planning, individual and group counseling, casemanagement and referral to necessary resources, and psychoeducation.

    All Counselors areprovided workspace to conduct counseling sessions.


    Requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMust meet at least one of the following criteria:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling,social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or arelated human services field.

    Certified Addictions Professional (CAP) certified by the Florida Certification BoardCertified Addictions Counselor (CAC) certified by the Florida Certification BoardLicensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certified by the Florida Certification BoardLicensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certified by the Florida Certification BoardLICENSES, CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATIONSValid Florida Driver\'s License.

    Must pass background and fingerprinting checks.

    Must pass drug screen.

    B. Riley House is a substance abuse treatment facility for adult
    LGBTQIA+ persons. Our primary purpose is to enhance the social, spiritual, emotional, and
    physical health of our clients. We provide a safe, tolerant, culturally sensitive, and affirming living
    space in a clean and sober environment. We cater exclusively to members of the LGBTQ+
    community and our allies who are looking for a way out of the pain and misery of substance abuse
    through outside substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health (MH) providers. Our primary
    purpose is to help members of the LGBTQ+ community achieve long-term sobriety, reduce
    recidivism in detox centers and treatment centers, and provide continued support to individuals in
    their recovery journey.

    We offer our residents a wide range of services from partial hospitalization programming (PHP),
    intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), mental health assessment and treatment, coming out,
    transgender issues, individual and group therapy, 12-step programs, and case management.
