Job Description
Paws4Humanity are seeking to recruit an Environmental Education Officer who will play a pivotal role in promoting sustainability and environmental awareness through the development, implementation, and management of educational workshops. This role requires a passionate advocate for environmental protection who can engage, inspire, and educate communities, schools, organizations, and individuals on environmental issues, best practices, and sustainable living.
Requirements & Qualifications

All of the following requirements will be assessed from a combination of information provided from an application form, the interview process and references (if applicable) Essential Desirable
- • Previous experience (typically 2-5 years) in environmental education, sustainability outreach, or community engagement.
- • Experience in developing educational resources and workshops, both in-person and digital.
- • Previous experiencing of promoting and delivering environmental education to the BME community
- • Strong communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to design engaging educational experiences.
- • Knowledge of environmental issues, including climate change, biodiversity, conservation, and waste management and how this comes into play with the cost of living crisis
- • Proficient in using digital platforms, social media, and online tools for education and outreach.
- • Passion for environmental conservation and education.
- • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- • 0 Strong organizational and project management skills.
- • 1 Flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude towards learning and development.
In addition to the above, the following areas have been identified as desirable areas of expertise we are particularly interested in recruiting to our Trust Board
- • 2 Certification or additional training in environmental education or sustainability practices.
- • 3 Familiarity with curriculum development and educational frameworks.
- • 4 Fluency in additional languages such as Urdu or Punjabi is a plus.

Paws4Humanity (SCIO) is a registered charity which focuses on the advancement of animal welfare, advancement of education and advancement of environmental protection. We are seeking an environmental education officer for our project “Protect the Planet”. This project will focus on the advancement of environmental protection or improvement through the delivery of awareness raising sessions focusing on pollution, plastic, glass and waste and how it negatively impacts animal life and the wider environment if not dealt with properly, as well as the importance of trees and their protection to the environment.
