Deputy Chief Engineer
Company: Oil and Energy, Civil Engineering
Location: Doha, Qatar, On-Site, Full-time
Overview:
The Deputy Chief Engineer will be responsible for leading various projects of different sizes for Qatar Petroleum (QP), Qatar Gas (QG), and other clients within the Oil and Gas industry.
This role involves overseeing engineering activities from FEED (Front End Engineering Design) to EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) phases, ensuring technical excellence and project delivery in accordance with client requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering projects of varying scales and complexities for QP, QG, and other clients.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design through detailed engineering to construction and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with other departments and disciplines to optimize project designs and resolve engineering issues.
- Monitor project progress, budget, and schedule adherence; take proactive measures to mitigate risks and achieve project milestones.
- Participate in project meetings, client discussions, and technical reviews to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
Education:
- Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, specializing in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:
- Proficiency in SACS software is required.
Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with a focus on structural engineering and project management.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong background in structural engineering principles, including design, analysis, and construction practices.
- Experience across the entire project lifecycle, including FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases in the Oil and Gas sector.
