Job description
Our client, a reputable organization in the health and safety sector, is seeking a diligent Environmental Health Officer (Level 1) to assist in implementing and monitoring environmental health programs that promote public health and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, workplaces, and public areas to ensure environmental health compliance.
- Identify and report hazards related to sanitation, waste management, and pollution control.
- Support the enforcement of environmental health laws and regulations.
- Collect and analyze environmental samples (air, water, or soil) for safety assessment.
- Promote public awareness on hygiene, sanitation, and environmental protection.
- Maintain accurate inspection and incident reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve community health and environmental safety.
Requirements & qualifications
BSc or HND in Environmental Health (registration as Environmental Health Officer mandatory)
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience
- Occupational Health & Safety Management System Lead Auditor Training
- Advanced Professional Certificate in Food Hygiene & Standards Control preferred
- Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) required
- Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner (CIEH) an advantage
